Evan Reynolds………..  Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, has seen a lot in his day, at least he would like to think so.  The youngest in a family of five, Evan has always been adventurous and has always believed that he could beat the odds.  Fortunately, coming from a strong family, Evan has known since a very young age that no matter what obstacle or venture he set his mind on, regardless of the results, he would feel the love from his family which is most important.

Evan began exploring “The Industry” in 1991 when a friend at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois brought him to a modeling agency just to tag along.  Evan already had interest in modeling/acting but had never truly exercised the idea that he would one day wish to pursue the business with a passion.  After meeting with consultants, managers and agents, Evan began taking classes, auditioning and going on print go-sees (for all of my NY/east coast people out there) in order to book/land a gig.  Whether it is an Independent Film role, National Commercial, Feature Film or Print job, Evan knew that this is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life…………

Moving forward, Evan continued taking classes and studying with private coaches in order to further his talent.  After graduating with a B.S. in Marketing in 1994, Evan did what most college grads do, he got a full-time job as a Sales Representative for a major consumer foods company.  This definitely was not the move.

While spending one and a half years working and hating his job, Evan found himself still pursuing “The Industry” as much as he could.  Yes, that means changing clothes in the middle of a workday, in the car, in order to hit an audition.

In July of 1996, Evan decided to take a risk for the first time in his life…………he moved to New York City without a true plan.  Two female friends of his from Chicago happened to be making the move and asked if he wanted to give it a shot.  Well………. you only live once.  Evan moved to the east coast to pursue his dream of working as an actor in the Entertainment Industry.

Spending a total of four (4) years in New York, Evan booked and worked on National Commercials, Soaps like “Guiding Light” and “One Life To Live”, Feature Films like Woody Allen’s “Celebrity”, print jobs for Compaq Computer, Discover Card, etc. and Independent projects whenever there was an opportunity to do so.  Evan began taking a bite out of “The Big Apple”.

Deciding that he would need to spend some time on the west coast, Evan visited Los Angeles in February 2000 and quickly learned that the L.A. market is COMPLETELY different than its counterpart on the east.  But again, Evan knew that it was time to make a change and moved over 3,000 miles to the sunny state of California in May of 2000.

Spending the first summer getting acclimated, Evan auditioned here and there and basically enjoyed the weather.  It wasn’t until August of 2000, yeah just four (4) short months into his new journey, that a friend from NY who also had recently moved to L.A., called Evan and all of the NY crew, to let them know of an audition for a Reality TV show named “Temptation Island”.  After a three (3) hour audition, and one (1) callback, Evan found himself flying to Belize, not knowing exactly what was about to happen.

The show was filmed in two weeks and Evan met some GREAT people, most of whom he still has a relationship with.  But, once he returned to L.A., he quickly remembered that his objective was to be a “working” actor, not to be known as “that guy who………….on that Reality show”.  The show aired in January 2001 and was immediately a HIT!

Recently, Evan has made an appearance on BET Tonight and also has been a part of a pilot project named “The Word”.  Evan continues to work hard, take classes, and audition for projects.  Watch out……….you just may see Evan working at a theatre around the corner from you, on a television show, or maybe even on the big screen…………  But regardless, Evan will continue to stay positive, work hard, appreciate EVERY opportunity, and treasure his friends, family and experiences.

Approach this industry with passion, commitment and KNOW that this is what you want.  Do whatever you can (within reason), to continue your pursuit, and when all else fails………..try another angle to “Make It Happen”!!!
